About Shadeeza

Shadeeza Buckley is a Jamaican artist whose life has been shaped by courage, creativity, and an unshakable belief in possibility.
Born with Down Syndrome, she has spent her life being told what she could not do — but she chose instead to focus on what she can do.
Through colour, imagination, and persistence, Shadeeza found her voice in art and learned to see herself as capable, worthy, and enough.
Her artwork became her voice.
Her journals became her way of giving that voice to others.
Why She Creates Journals
Shadeeza has always loved writing things down. Not because someone told her to — but because it made her feel calm, organized, and connected to herself.
- She writes lists of her favourite cartoons.
- Stories she makes up about her family.
- Lists of things to do.
- Lists of people invited to her birthday party.
- Little notes to remember.
- Little moments she doesn’t want to forget.
Writing helps her make sense of her world. It helps her stay organized. It helps her feel grounded. It helps her feel like herself.
And she knows many women feel the same way.
Women who write to breathe. Women who write to stay centered. Women who write to remember who they are. Women who write because life is full and heavy and beautiful and complicated — and sometimes the only way to hold it all is to put it on paper.
Shadeeza creates journals for those women.
For the woman who needs a quiet place to land. For the woman who needs a reminder that she is enough. For the woman who is trying, healing, hoping, becoming. For the woman who believes in the power of writing things down — even if it’s just a list, a thought, a dream, or a feeling.
Her journals are made for the same reason she writes:
- To stay grounded.
- To stay hopeful.
- To stay connected to the parts of yourself that matter.
The Heart Behind Every Collection
Every journal Shadeeza creates is rooted in one of her three emotional pillars — Self‑Acceptance, Perseverance, and Hope.
These pillars never change, because they reflect the journey every woman walks through again and again.
Self-Acceptance
For the woman learning to embrace who she is — fully, gently, and without apology. These journals remind you that you are worthy, whole, and allowed to take up space exactly as you are.
Perseverance
For the woman who keeps showing up, even when life feels heavy. These journals honour your strength, your resilience, and the quiet courage it takes to keep moving forward one small step at a time.
Hope
For the woman who still believes in tomorrow, even when today feels uncertain. These journals help you celebrate your progress, trust your journey, and stay open to possibility.
As time goes on, new journals will be added to each pillar — each one inspired by a different moment, message, or piece of artwork from Shadeeza’s life. But the heart behind them will always remain the same:
- To give women a beautiful place to write their truth.
- To remind them that they are becoming someone extraordinary.
- To help them stay grounded, brave, and hopeful — one page at a time.

Our Mission
To inspire women — women like you — to see yourselves as enough.
To give you hope on the days you feel uncertain.
To encourage you to keep going, even when the path feels heavy.
Our mission is to create journals that remind you of your strength, your worth, and your possibility. Journals that help you breathe, reflect, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that matter. Journals that whisper, “Don’t give up. You are becoming.”
Through her journals, Shadeeza invites you to slow down, reflect, and write your own story — with courage, compassion, and hope.
